2. Insert the swab into the provided assay buffer tube.Agitates it to get efficient sample extraction.
3. Place the test device on a clean and level surface. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 3 drops of extracted sample (approximately 120 μl) to the specimen well (S) of the test device, then start the timer. See illustration above.
4. Read the result at 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 10 minutes.

| What is the Feline Giardia: |
![]() Feline Giardia: Giardiasis is a tiny protozoan parasite that causes intestinal infections in both humans and animals (also known as G. intestinalis or G. lamblia). Giardia is neither a "worm," a bacterium, or a virus; it is a straightforward one-celled parasite species. There are seven genotypes, numbered from A to G. Dogs are most frequently infected by genotypes C and D, cats by genotype F, and humans by genotypes A and B, with E and F being recorded seldom. The parasite is a common cause of "Traveler's Diarrhea" in humans and is present around the world. Outdoor enthusiasts who unintentionally drink polluted water run the risk of contracting "beaver fever," which is a human condition known as giardiasis. Coccidia, Cryptosporidia, and Toxoplasma are more examples of protozoan parasites that can cause enteric (intestinal) sickness. There are two types of Giardia. Infected animals have trophozoites in their guts, a delicate feeding form. A resilient cystic form is excreted in feces and has a long survival time in the environment, especially near water and in wet conditions. Giardiasis is a significant contributor to diarrhea in both people and animals. However, many cats have the infection without exhibiting any symptoms, or the diarrhea is dismissed as "non-specific." Undoubtedly more cats have giardia infections than are detected or identified. What medical symptoms indicate of Feline Giardia? The harm caused by these tiny parasites attaching to the intestinal wall results in abrupt, sudden onset, foul-smelling diarrhea. Cats with giardia infections may lose weight, experience recurrent bouts of diarrhea, and have greasy stools. The feces may be mushy or watery, frequently have a greenish tint, and occasionally have blood in them. Excess mucus is frequently found in the feces of infected cats. Vomiting could happen sometimes. The symptoms might last for many weeks before weight loss starts to show. There may be sporadic diarrhea. Although most cats don't suffer fevers, they could be less active. |
The condition is normally not life-threatening, but it can be more dangerous in kittens, elderly cats, or cats whose immune systems have been compromised by infections with the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) or the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), among other serious illnesses. Many dogs and cats will be asymptomatic carriers of the disease; they never show any symptoms. Clinical symptoms are more likely to appear in younger animals.
How to use Feline Giardia Antigen Rapid Test Device?
These microscopic cysts, which are irregularly shed in the feces and frequently require a specialized zinc sulfate flotation solution for identification, may be missed by a conventional fecal flotation test. On occasion, a direct smear of the feces may reveal the parasites. Giardia-specific antigens may be detected in a stool sample if your veterinarian suspects giardiasis (cell proteins). While certain Giardia tests must be sent to a reference laboratory, some are available for use in-clinic. On the basis of a patient's medical history and clinical symptoms indicative of giardiasis, many cases are presumptively diagnosed.
