Principle
The Alcohol Test Strip (Urine) is a chemical assay based on an alcohol-sensitive enzymatic reaction. Alcohol, if present in the specimen, reacts with chemicals on the reaction pad and causes a color change.
The Test Strip (Urine) has a reaction pad attached to it and is made of plastic. A solid-phase chemistry method that uses a very selective enzyme reaction is used in the reaction pad. The reaction pad will quickly change colors when in contact with alcohol samples, depending on the amount of alcohol present. The amount of alcohol present in the sample directly correlates with this color shift. An approximation of the alcohol concentration can be found by comparing it to the color blocks on the color chart.

Specimen
The specimens with alcohol in them can be kept at 15 to 30 °C in a sealed container for up to 4 hours. Specimens can be kept chilled and kept at 2-8°C for up to two days. So, do not freeze the samples when we conduct the alcohol test. Before testing, chilled samples should be warmed to room temperature. Moreover, the Alcohol Test Strip needs to be kept at room temperature.

Test Procedure
Before testing, let the Alcohol Test Strip that has been pouched acclimate to room temperature.
1. Take the strip out of the sealed packet and use it right away. If the reaction pad becomes blue before the urine is placed or if it is otherwise stained, do not use the strip.
2. Dip the Strip in the urine sample for at least 10 to 15 seconds while holding it upright.
3. Check the results at two minutes to ascertain the relative blood alcohol level by visually comparing the reaction pad's color to the relevant color block. After five minutes, do not interpret the results.

Alcohols made from methyl, ethyl, and allyl will cause the Test Strip (Urine) to react. The following chemicals may cause the test strip to malfunction (Urine). Normal human urine does not contain enough of these chemicals to tamper with the test.
