Canine Parvo Virus Antigen Test Device

The Canine Parvo Virus Antigen Test Device is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Canine Parvovirus antigens (CPV Ag) in dog’s feces or vomit.

Conditions and scope of use

Store at ambient temperature or refrigerated (2-30 °C) in the sealed pouch as provided. The test will remain stable until the expiration date indicated on the sealed packet. The test gadget must be kept in its sealed pouch until it is used. DO NOT FROST. Use before the expiry date.

Testing Procedure

Prior to testing, allow the test apparatus, specimen, buffer, and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30 °C).

• 1.Using a swab stick, collect dog excrement or vomit from the dog's anus or from the ground. The following quantity of fecal swab:

• 2. Fill the accompanying plastic tubes with buffer using the wet swab. To ensure effective sample extraction, agitate it. 

• 3.Position the Canine Parvo Virus Antigen Test Device on a clean, flat surface. Holding the dropper vertically, transfer 3 drops of extracted material (about 120 l) to the test device's specimen well (S), then start the timer. See the example above.

• 4.Read the result at 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 10 minutes.

Interpretation of Results

Positive:	There are two lines. The control line zone (C) should always have one line, and the test line region (T) should always contain one apparent colored line.
Negative:	In the control region, a single colored line appears (C). In the test line zone, there are no visible colored lines.
Invalid:	Control line is not displayed. The most frequent causes of control line failure are insufficient specimen volume or improper procedural procedures. Review the steps and perform the test once again using a different test tool. Contact your local distributor right once and stop using the test kit if the issue continues.

Canine Parvo Virus Antigen Test Device Performance Characteristics

The control line is not visible. Inadequate specimen volume or inappropriate procedural methods are the most common reasons of control line failure. Review the instructions and repeat the test using a different test tool. If the problem persists, contact your local distributor immediately and discontinue use of the test kit.

        Only canids are impacted by the canine parvovirus. Canine parvovirus enteritis has been linked to specific dog breeds, including German shepherds, Doberman pinschers, Rottweilers, and American pit bull terriers, according to some study (also known as parvovirus infection). Other animals including skunks, pumas, and raccoons may contract parvovirus strains that are genetically similar to canine parvovirus. Although younger dogs are more frequently affected, any dog that is unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated is at risk for infection.
