What are adenoviruses?
Adenovirus Antigen Test Kit is commonly used in recent days, The Adenoviridae family of viruses includes medium-sized nonenveloped viruses called human adenoviruses (HAdVs), which have a double-stranded DNA genome. Numerous vertebrate animals, including as dogs, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, and wild birds, are hosts for adenoviruses. Actually, depending on the afflicted population, the family Adenoviridae is divided into the genera of mammalian adenoviruses (mastadenovirus) and avian adenoviruses (aviadenoviruses).
The main way that adenoviruses spread is by respiratory droplets. Nonetheless, it has also been noted that they can spread by aerosols, blood, and feces. Adenoviruses are basic viruses that primarily depend on their host cell for life and replication, but they can endure lengthy periods of time in the environment due to their resistance to physical or chemical agents as well as unfavorable environmental circumstances.
Different kinds of adenoviruses have been identified as the etiologic mediators of many diseases within different organ systems, despite the fact that many adenovirus infections are asymptomatic. Adenoviruses are the most prevalent cause of respiratory system infections, which frequently result in symptoms that mimic the typical cold or flu, such as fever, sore throat, conjunctivitis, cough, and runny nose. Individuals with weak or compromised immunity, as well as those with disorders like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and heart disease, are more susceptible to severe respiratory diseases that can lead to problems including pneumonia and respiratory failure.

Products DescriptionPrinciple of this test
Antigen Test Kit is a fast one-step immunochromatographic assay for the detection of Adenovirus antigen in fecal samples. The membrane is pre-coated with monoclonal antibodies to Adenovirus. During testing, the antigen in the sample is allowed to react with the colored conjugates (anti-Adenovirus antibodies - blue microspheres) which were pre-dried on the test.
Patient Samples
Specimen collection and storage
Stool samples should be collected in clean containers and the assay should be done right after collection. The samples can be stored at 2-8 ºC for 1-2 days prior to testing. In this case, the samples have to be totally thawed and brought to room temperature before testing.
Preparation before use
Allow frozen or refrigerated fecal samples to reach room temperature prior to assay. Take care to agitate samples gently in order to ensure homogeneity. Shake the test tube with a vortex in order to assure good sample dispersion.
