Chapter 1 Safety Guidance
This Pocket Fetal Doppler is internally powered and classified as type B applied part, complying with IEC 60601-1 standards for leakage currents and dielectric strengths. It is an aid for healthcare professionals, not a replacement for standard fetal monitoring. Follow these safety guidelines:
- Do not disassemble; only qualified personnel should service it.
- Remove batteries if unused for long periods; dispose of them per local laws.
- Designed for continuous operation but not waterproof or explosion-proof.
- Avoid fire, incorrect battery placement, and exposure to strong electromagnetic interference.
- Protect from shocks and do not use with defibrillators or high-frequency surgical units.
- Properly maintain for a service life of 5 years, then dispose of according to regulations.
- Please don't set anode and cathode of the battery wrongly.
- Batteries should be stored in a cool, dry place.
- Ensure the device's environment is free from strong electromagnetic interference (e.g., radios, mobile phones).
- Protect the device from violent shocks.
- Do not use the device with defibrillators or high-frequency surgical equipment.
- Keep the probe away from sharp objects.
- The device's lifespan is 5 years; proper maintenance can extend it.
- After its lifespan, return the device to the manufacturer or dispose of it per local regulations.
Chapter 2 Introduction
The Pocket Fetal Doppler is a handheld device designed for expectant mothers to monitor their baby's heart rate (FHR) at home. It allows them to listen to the fetal heartbeat and calculate the FHR for early monitoring and prenatal care. The device features audio output, enabling connection to a computer, CD, or tape recorder via a recording cable. This allows users to record and share the fetal heart sounds with family and friends online.
- Integrated Design: Combines the probe and main unit into one device.
- Compact and Portable: Delicate, small design for easy use.
- Power Indicator: Shows the device's power status.
- Dual Headphone Sockets: Allows both expectant mother and father to listen to the fetal heart sound simultaneously.
- High Sensitivity: Equipped with a sensitive Doppler probe.
- Low Power Consumption: Uses two AAA batteries for over 8 hours of continuous use (battery type and volume-dependent).
- Recording Capability: Can connect to a computer or recorder to capture the fetal heart sound using a recording
